Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 12 slices regular-cut bacon
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp sea salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat Oven & Prep Asparagus: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash and trim the woody ends off the asparagus. In a bowl, toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional garlic powder.
- 2. Prepare Bacon: Lay bacon strips flat. If very long, cut them in half crosswise.
- 3. Wrap Bundles: Take 3-4 asparagus spears and wrap one bacon strip tightly around the center, spiraling slightly. Secure ends by tucking or with a toothpick if needed. Repeat for all bundles.
- 4. Arrange & Season: Place bundles in a single layer on a baking sheet (preferably with a wire rack). Lightly season again if desired.
- 5. Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until bacon is crispy and golden brown, and asparagus is tender-crisp. For extra crispness, broil for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully.
