Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended), turkey, or plant-based patties
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
- 8 cups mixed greens (romaine, butter lettuce, spring mix)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced dill pickles
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
- 1 large tomato, diced
- 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
- 1/4 cup crispy bacon bits (optional)
- Ketchup, mustard, or special sauce (mayo, ketchup, relish, hot sauce) for drizzling
Instructions
- Prepare Patties: Gently form ground meat into four 1/2-inch thick patties. Season generously on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Cook Patties: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness (160°F internal temperature). If adding cheese, place a slice on top during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
- Assemble Bowls: Divide mixed greens among four large bowls. Slice or crumble cooked burger patties and add to each bowl.
- Add Toppings: Arrange shredded cheese, pickles, red onion, diced tomato, avocado slices, and bacon bits (if using) around the burger meat in each bowl.
