Description
These delightful pinwheels feature flaky puff pastry wrapped around a creamy, cheesy, and subtly spicy jalapeño and bacon filling. They are perfect for parties, game days, or any time you crave a savory, satisfying snack.
Ingredients
- 2 sheets (17.3 oz total) frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2–3 medium jalapeños, finely diced (seeds and membranes removed for less heat)
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon bits (or 3–4 slices cooked and crumbled bacon)
- 1 large egg, whisked with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, finely diced jalapeños, and bacon bits. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Assemble the Pinwheels: On a lightly floured surface or parchment paper, unroll one sheet of thawed puff pastry. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire surface, leaving a 1/2-inch border on one long edge. Tightly roll the pastry into a log, starting from the long edge opposite the border.
- Slice the Pinwheels: Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1/2-inch thick pinwheels. Repeat with the second sheet of puff pastry and the remaining filling.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the pinwheels on the baking sheet, leaving space between them. Brush the tops with the egg wash.
- Golden Perfection: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed, golden brown, and the filling is bubbly. Serve warm and enjoy!
