Description

Unleash the best flavor with our Gooey Strawberry Earthquake Cake recipe! This easy-to-bake dessert is a step-by-step guide to pure bliss.

Ingredients

  • 1 (15.25 ounce) box white or yellow cake mix
  • Ingredients called for on cake mix box (typically water, oil, eggs)
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled and quartered (if large)
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract (for cake batter)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • Prepare cake mix according to package directions, adding vanilla extract if desired. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk until well combined and creamy.
  • Evenly dollop the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter. Scatter strawberries over the cream cheese layer.
  • Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl through the layers to create an ‘earthquake’ effect.
  • Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until edges are golden and a skewer inserted into a cakey part comes out with moist crumbs. The center will still be jiggly.
  • Let cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving for optimal gooeyness.
