- 1 large egg, room temperature
- ½ cup full-fat Greek yogurt, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups chocolate chips (or other desired mix-ins)
Instructions
- Step 1: Prep Your Workspace. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Step 2: Cream Butter and Sugars. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Step 3: Add Wet Ingredients. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until just combined. Stir in the Greek yogurt until fully incorporated.
- Step 4: Combine Dry Ingredients. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Step 5: Fold in Mix-Ins. Gently fold in chocolate chips or your chosen mix-ins.
- Step 6: Chill Dough. Cover the bowl and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours) for best results.
- Step 7: Bake Cookies. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers are still slightly soft.
- Step 8: Cool. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
