Unleash the best flavor with this irresistible Strawberry Earthquake Cake. Follow our step-by-step guide for an easy-to-bake dessert that will wow everyone!

Ingredients

  • 1 (15.25 ounce) box white or yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup water (or as directed on cake mix box)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or as directed on cake mix box)
  • 3 large eggs (or as directed on cake mix box)
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup strawberry jam or preserves
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • Prepare cake mix according to package directions using water, oil, and eggs. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • Drop spoonfuls of strawberry jam and softened cream cheese randomly over the cake batter.
  • Evenly drizzle the entire can of sweetened condensed milk over the top of the jam and cream cheese dots.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the cake (avoiding jam/cream cheese pockets) comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  • While the cake cools, prepare the frosting: In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Once the cake is completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature, garnished with fresh strawberries if desired.
