Description
Create a jumbo pepperoni-stuffed pizza spiral with this step-by-step recipe. Super easy to bake and delivers the best flavor!
Ingredients
- 1 (16 oz) package store-bought pizza dough (or homemade)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
- 4 oz thin-sliced pepperoni
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp water
- Optional: Marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
- 1. Prepare Dough: On a lightly floured surface or parchment paper, roll pizza dough into a 12×18 inch rectangle.
- 2. Layer Fillings: Spread pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Evenly layer mozzarella (reserving a bit for topping if desired) and pepperoni.
- 3. Roll the Spiral: Starting from a long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.
- 4. Slice and Arrange: Slice the log into 12-1 inch thick rounds. Arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, starting from the center and spiraling outwards to form a large circle.
- 5. Egg Wash: Whisk egg and water. Brush over the assembled pizza spiral.
- 6. Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- 7. Serve: Let cool slightly before serving with warm marinara dipping sauce, if desired.
