Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs

- For the Frosting:
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 3–4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2–4 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
- Sprinkles (optional, for decorating)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang, and lightly grease.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Press dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- For the Frosting: In a medium bowl, cream softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Beat in vanilla extract and 2-4 tablespoons of milk/cream, one tablespoon at a time, until desired smooth, spreadable consistency is reached.
- Once bars are completely cool, lift them from the pan using the parchment paper. Spread frosting evenly over the top and decorate with sprinkles if desired.
