Delicious Banana Split Skewers

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 skewers

Description

These delightful banana split skewers offer all the classic flavors of a banana split in a fun, portable, and easy-to-make format. Perfect for parties or a refreshing treat, they combine creamy banana, juicy berries, and sweet drizzles.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe but firm bananas
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1 (15 oz) can pineapple chunks, well-drained, or 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup large marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
  • 12 maraschino cherries (or fresh pitted cherries)
  • 12 wooden or metal skewers (68 inches)
  • Optional: 1 tbsp lemon juice (for bananas)

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare Fruit: Peel bananas and slice into 1-inch thick rounds. If desired, toss lightly with lemon juice to prevent browning. Wash and hull strawberries; slice larger ones in half. Drain canned pineapple well or cut fresh pineapple into 1-inch chunks.
  • 2. Assemble Skewers: Carefully thread the fruit and marshmallows onto the skewers, alternating ingredients for visual appeal and stability. A good sequence is marshmallow, banana, strawberry, pineapple, banana, marshmallow.
  • 3. Arrange: Place the assembled skewers on a serving platter.
  • 4. Drizzle and Serve: Just before serving, generously drizzle chocolate syrup and caramel sauce over the skewers. Top each skewer with a dollop of whipped cream and a cherry. Serve immediately.
