Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm bananas
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1 (15 oz) can pineapple chunks, well-drained, or 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
- 1 cup large marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
- 12 maraschino cherries (or fresh pitted cherries)
- 12 wooden or metal skewers (6–8 inches)
- Optional: 1 tbsp lemon juice (for bananas)
Instructions
- 1. Prepare Fruit: Peel bananas and slice into 1-inch thick rounds. If desired, toss lightly with lemon juice to prevent browning. Wash and hull strawberries; slice larger ones in half. Drain canned pineapple well or cut fresh pineapple into 1-inch chunks.
- 2. Assemble Skewers: Carefully thread the fruit and marshmallows onto the skewers, alternating ingredients for visual appeal and stability. A good sequence is marshmallow, banana, strawberry, pineapple, banana, marshmallow.
- 3. Arrange: Place the assembled skewers on a serving platter.
- 4. Drizzle and Serve: Just before serving, generously drizzle chocolate syrup and caramel sauce over the skewers. Top each skewer with a dollop of whipped cream and a cherry. Serve immediately.
