Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) fully cooked smoked kielbasa sausage
- 12 slices regular-cut bacon
- 1/4 cup (50g) light brown sugar OR 1/4 cup (60ml) pure maple syrup
- Optional: 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Optional: 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes
- Wooden toothpicks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and place a wire rack on top.
- Slice kielbasa into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Cut each bacon slice into thirds.
- Wrap each kielbasa slice tightly with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
- Arrange the wrapped kielbasa on the wire rack in a single layer, ensuring space between each piece.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bacon is golden and crispy.
- If glazing: In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar/maple syrup with optional garlic powder and cayenne. Remove kielbasa from oven, brush generously with glaze, and return to oven for another 5-10 minutes, or until glaze is bubbly and caramelized.
