Ingredients

  • 1 sheet (10-12 oz) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 10 oz frozen chopped spinach, thawed and very well-drained
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 large egg, whisked with 1 tablespoon water or milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  • Thaw Pastry: Unroll thawed puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface or parchment paper.
  • Prepare Filling: In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, well-drained spinach, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until smooth.
  • Spread Filling: Evenly spread the spinach-cheese mixture over the puff pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border on one long edge.
  • Roll Tightly: Starting from the long edge opposite the border, tightly roll the pastry into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.
  • Chill Log: Wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours) to firm up.
  • Preheat Oven & Slice: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the chilled log into 1/2-inch thick rounds using a sharp knife.
  • Arrange & Egg Wash: Place pinwheels cut-side up on the baking sheet, spacing them apart. Brush tops and sides with egg wash.
