Description
Indulge in the delightful crunch of homemade churros without the deep-fry mess! These easy Air Fryer Churro Bites are perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within, coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar blend.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- Cooking spray (neutral oil like canola or avocado)
- For the Coating:
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- 1. Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
- 2. Make Choux Base: In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and immediately stir in all the flour at once with a wooden spoon until a smooth ball of dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- 3. Add Eggs: Transfer dough to a large mixing bowl. Let cool for 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until fully incorporated and the dough is smooth and glossy.
- 4. Pipe Churro Bites: Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 1-2 inch lengths onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Use kitchen shears to cut the dough.
- 5. Air Fry: Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray churro bites with cooking spray. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket (do not overcrowd). Air fry for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
- 6. Coat: Immediately toss hot churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
