Ingredients
- 1–2 tsp ceremonial or premium culinary grade matcha powder
- 2–3 oz hot water (175°F / 80°C)
- 1–2 tsp maple syrup or agave nectar (or to taste)
- 8–10 oz cold plant-based milk (oat milk or cashew milk recommended)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Sift Matcha: Sift matcha powder into a small bowl or matcha bowl to prevent clumps.
- Whisk Matcha Base: Add 2-3 oz of 175°F (80°C) water to the sifted matcha. Whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk or electric frother until smooth and foamy.
- Sweeten: Stir in maple syrup or agave nectar until fully dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness.
- Assemble: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the sweetened matcha base over the ice.
- Add Milk: Slowly pour the cold plant-based milk over the matcha.
