Ingredients
- 6 English muffins, torn into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup diced cooked ham or Canadian bacon
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère or white cheddar cheese (optional)
- 8 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk or half-and-half
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (12-ounce) package store-bought Hollandaise sauce, or homemade
- Fresh chives or parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Prepare Dish & Muffins: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Arrange torn English muffin pieces evenly in the bottom.
- 2. Layer Ham & Cheese: Scatter diced ham over the English muffins. If using, sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the ham.
- 3. Whisk Egg Mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- 4. Pour & Bake: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the muffins and ham. Sprinkle with remaining cheese (if using). Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until eggs are set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- 5. Warm Hollandaise & Serve: While casserole bakes, gently warm Hollandaise sauce. Let casserole rest 5-10 minutes, then spoon warm Hollandaise over individual servings. Garnish with chives or parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.
