Description
This incredibly simple dump cake combines the classic flavors of a banana split into a warm, gooey, and utterly delicious baked dessert. It’s perfect for a quick treat with minimal effort.
Ingredients
- 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
- 3 medium ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 (15.25 ounce) box vanilla cake mix (dry)
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, cold and thinly sliced
- Optional: Whipped cream, chopped nuts, chocolate or caramel sauce for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spread the undrained crushed pineapple evenly over the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Spoon the cherry pie filling over the pineapple layer. Do not stir.
- Arrange the sliced bananas in a single layer over the cherry filling.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry vanilla cake mix over the fruit layers, ensuring full coverage.
- Place the thinly sliced cold butter evenly over the dry cake mix.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly around the edges.
- Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack for 15-20 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with optional toppings like whipped cream, nuts, and chocolate or caramel sauce.
