Ingredients
- For the Donut Base:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup milk
- ¼ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- For the Cheesecake Filling:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- For the Peach Topping:
- 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen (thawed) sliced peaches
- ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)
- For the Streusel:
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- 1. Prepare Streusel & Donut Batter: In a small bowl, combine streusel flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cold butter. Cut butter in until crumbly; set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk milk, sour cream, melted butter, egg, and vanilla. In a large bowl, sift flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add wet ingredients to dry; mix until just combined (do not overmix).
- 2. Bake Donuts: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 12-cavity donut pan. Pipe donut batter into cavities, filling ⅔ full. Bake 10-12 minutes, until golden and springy. Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- 3. Make Cheesecake Filling & Peach Topping: For filling, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag. For topping, combine peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until peaches soften. Stir in cornstarch slurry; cook 1-2 minutes until thickened. Let cool slightly.
