- 1 sheet (10-12 oz) frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup pepper jelly (mild, medium, or hot)
- 1 large egg, whisked with 1 tbsp water or milk (for egg wash)
- Optional: Fresh chives or crushed nuts for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll thawed puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface. Cut into 12-16 equal squares.
- In a small bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Place about 1 teaspoon of cream cheese in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold two opposite corners of each square over the cream cheese and pinch to seal, or fold all four corners to the center and pinch.
- Arrange bites on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops and exposed pastry with egg wash.
- Chill the baking sheet with bites in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Immediately spoon a small dollop of pepper jelly onto the center of each warm bite.
