Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 black tea bag (or 1–2 tsp loose leaf black tea)
- 1 cinnamon stick (or 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon)
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract (or 1/4 tsp vanilla bean paste)
- 1/2 cup milk of choice (whole, 2%, oat, almond)
- 1–2 tsp sweetener (granulated sugar, honey, maple syrup), to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Steep the Tea Base. In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a gentle simmer. Remove from heat and add your black tea bag(s) or loose leaf tea. Steep for 3-5 minutes to extract flavor without bitterness.
- Step 2: Infuse with Cinnamon & Vanilla. Remove tea bags/infuser. Return saucepan to low heat. Add cinnamon stick(s) and vanilla extract. Gently warm for 2-3 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
- Step 3: Add Milk & Sweetener. Pour in your milk of choice and add sweetener. Stir gently. Heat over low to medium-low heat until hot but not boiling, stirring occasionally.
- Step 4: Strain & Serve. Remove cinnamon stick(s). Strain the milk tea through a fine-mesh sieve into a mug if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
